What is Bellafill?
Bellafill® is an FDA-approved dermal filler made of sterile polymethlymethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres in a purified bovine collagen gel carrier. Bellafill is a dual-acting injectable dermal filler. The collagen provides immediate volume below pitted scars or deep wrinkles, like nasolabial folds, to lift them to the level of the surrounding skin. Results are immediate and long-lasting.
What can I expect from Bellafill Treatment?
You will receive a Bellafill skin test before your first treatment. A very small amount of Bellafill will be injected into the skin of your forearm. The purpose of this test is to confirm that you are not sensitive to the ingredients contained in Bellafill. You will observe your skin test over a 4 week period of time.
A topical application of numbing medicine may be used. Bellafill also contains lidocaine to minimize treatment discomfort. One or more injections of Bellafill will be placed under the skin’s surface. The physician will determine how many syringes and treatments will be required.
What Is the Bellafill Recovery Like?
You may experience temporary swelling, redness, pain, bruising, lumps, itching, and discoloration at the treatment site. These side effects usually last 1 – 7 days. You can immediately resume your normal daily activities.
