What is PRP Therapy?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative and cutting-edge rejuvenation treatment that’s broken the internet over the past several years. What Can I Expect During my
PRP Therapy Treatment?
Your PRP therapy treatments will be performed by Dr. Jennifer Armstrong in our state-of-the-art facility. Before your treatment begins, a small sample of blood will be drawn from your arm in a similar fashion as giving blood at a physician’s office. The harvested blood will then be purified in a centrifuge system to extract your PRP. Once the PRP is extracted, it will be placed into a syringe and carefully injected into your desired treatment areas. Dr. Armstrong typically recommends patients receive PRP therapy treatments in conjunction with other rejuvenating aesthetic procedures like microneedling or laser skin resurfacing.
What Can I Expect After my
PRP Therapy Treatment?
Your PRP therapy sessions do not require any extensive downtime or recovery period. Patients may experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness both at the site their blood was drawn and the injection sites. This is normal and typically subsides on its own within a few days of treatment. While patients may see some results immediately following their treatment, it may take up to six weeks to see the full results of your PRP therapy session. This is because it takes time for the PRP to build collagen and regenerate healthy cells within the skin after being administered. Dr. Armstrong and her team may recommend a series of three to six treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve your desired results.
