What Can I Expect During my Laser
Scar Revision?
Your laser scar revision treatments will be performed by Dr. Jennifer Armstrong in our state-of-the-art facility. Before your treatment begins, a topical anesthetic may be applied to your treatment area. This is just to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Once numb, Dr. Armstrong will begin applying short, quick bursts of laser technology along the skin. Most patients find the feeling of the laser similar to the sensation of a rubber band being snapped against the skin. Most treatment sessions typically take one to two hours to complete.
What Can I Expect After my Laser
Scar Revision Treatment?
Recovering from your laser scar revision treatment will vary depending on the depth and intensity of your laser treatments. Most patients report feeling little to no pain following their laser treatments, but do find that their skin is red and sensitive similar to the sensation of a sunburn. Lighter and moderate treatments may leave your skin feeling sensitive for up to five days, whereas deep treatments may cause this redness and flaking to last up to two weeks. Dr. Armstrong and her team of medical experts may recommend a series of medical-grade skincare products to soothe the skin throughout your scar revision recovery. We encourage our patients to discuss their desired recovery period with Dr. Armstrong during their private consultations.
