What is excel® V+?
Excel V+ laser energy is absorbed by abnormal blood vessels and in effect, eliminates them and restores normal skin color and tone. The device has multiple handpieces to target different skin concerns.
Specifically, the Genesis V™ handpiece releases either the 532 or 1064 nm. The 532 nm laser targets blood vessels closer to the skin and for those with lighter pigmentation, while the 1064 nm ND:YAG laser targets deep blood vessels and darker pigmentation.
These two lasers can be used interchangeably to customize a patient’s treatment, as well as guarantee consistent and reliable outcomes. Furthermore, the advanced laser system offers a wide range of laser spot sizes to ensure greater precision for smaller treatment areas and faster treatment times for larger areas.
Excel V+ can treat skin issues such as redness, rosacea, facial and leg veins, age and brown spots, and acne scars. It can also help minimize acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth out skin texture. The treatments can address these skin concerns and stimulate collagen regrowth to restore healthy, beautiful skin.

What Can I Expect During my excel v+ Treatment?
If you’re getting treated on the face, you’ll be given a pair of protective goggles to shield your eyes from the laser. Unlike other laser procedures, Excel V+ does not require any form of anesthesia. However, topical numbing cream will be available to patients before treatment to ensure a more comfortable experience. The Excel V+ handpiece will be placed over the treatment area where pulses of light are directed at vascular irregularities. You will feel mild heat pulses as the laser delivers energy below the skin’s surface. The laser comes with a proprietary cooling mechanism that produces continuous cooling before, during, and after the laser pulse to minimize discomfort. The treatment may be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes. Treatment time will vary depending on your skin condition and treatment area size, but a complete session should last no more than 45 minutes.
What Can I Expect After my excel v+ Treatment?
There is no downtime after the Excel V+ procedure. After your treatment, you may resume your normal activities immediately. You might experience some mild redness and swelling for a day or two, but these side effects are usually minimal. Occasional scabbing can also occur, and within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will slough off and fade. Protect treated skin from direct sun exposure to avoid potential damage.
