What Are Full-Body Skin Exams?
Full-body skin exams are critical in the prevention and early detection of skin cancer. Whether you’re fair-skinned or have a deeper skin tone, skin cancer and pre-cancerous lesions on the skin are not only common, but they have the potential to become very dangerous. In addition to wearing SPF regularly and protecting your skin from overexposure to the sun, we also ask our patients to come in for full-body skin examinations each year. These exams allow our patients to keep track of their moles and lesions with the help of Dr. Armstrong’s expert medical team. Tracking any changes in the size, shape, color, or border of your moles over a period of years can reduce your risk of developing severe skin cancer and enhance early treatment options.

What Can I Expect During my Full-Body Skin Exam?
Your full-body skin exam will be performed by one of Dr. Jennifer Armstrong’s expert medical team members in our state-of-the-art facility. Before your full-body skin exam begins, we will ask that you remove your clothing and put on a special procedural gown. When wearing your gown, your medical professional will carefully look over your skin and take note of each mole and birthmark on your body. This non-invasive exam typically takes about five to 10 minutes, after which time we will go over your lesions with you and discuss possible treatment options.
